In 1944, as World Warfare II is raging throughout Europe, fifteen-year-old Jack Raab dreams of being a hero. Leaving NY city, his family, and his boyhood in the back of, Jack makes use of a false I.D. and lies his method into the U.S. Air Force.
From their base in England, he and his crew fly twenty-four treacherous bombing missions over occupied Europe. The warfare is nearly over and Hitler near defeat once they fly their ultimate mission — a mission destined for catastrophe. Shot down some distance behind enemy strains, Jack is taken prisoner and despatched to a German POW camp, where his experiences are extra terrifying than anything else he’d ever imagined.
